Bosch top loading washing machines
Even though Bosch top-loading washing machines are inferior in popularity to their front-loading counterparts, they still sell well. Why is that? Good question and not easy to answer. Undoubtedly, a Bosch top-loading washing machine has its advantages, otherwise they simply wouldn’t buy it, but let’s try to figure out what these advantages are. At the same time, we’ll do a short review of these washing machines.
Functional features
Bosch top-loading “home assistants” have a number of technical features that invariably attract consumers. Many models are equipped with a system for automatically parking the drum, reloading laundry during washing, and a system for smoothly opening the drum doors. The energy class is usually “A”, and the spin class is usually “B”, which is not very good. Since their front-loading counterparts have a spin class of “A”, and an energy consumption class of at least A+.
Top-loading machines have almost no different set of programs, but their useful drum volume is slightly smaller. This does not seem to be noticeable if you wash everyday laundry, but if you wash down jackets or blankets, a 1.5-2 kg load may not be enough. Otherwise, Bosch top-loading machines are not very different from horizontal machines in terms of feature set. But if you look at them from the point of view of use, you can identify quite a lot of advantages that distinguish these machines from more common front cameras.
Main advantages and disadvantages
If we give an objective assessment of Bosch verticals, we can come to the conclusion that they have a lot of advantages.Let's try to list the most basic advantages.
- Bosch top-loaders take up less space in the bathroom. There is no need to leave space in front of the washing machine body, since the hatch for loading laundry is on top.
- Such machines are much more stable; even when spinning at 1200 rpm, they will not “jump”.
- It will be difficult for small children to reach the control panel of such a washing machine, which means they will not show much interest.
- A top-loading Bosch cannot leak through the hatch. A front-loading washing machine can do it very well, especially if the cuff gets damaged.
- It is very convenient for people with back pain to use this washing machine, since the hatch is located on top and there is no need to bend over to load laundry.
- In the interior, such washing machines look very aesthetically pleasing.
From the outside, the machine looks like a regular-shaped cabinet that is not conspicuous and does not distract attention.
Bosch top-loading machines also have disadvantages, and we cannot ignore them. For example, many housewives like to use the top cover of the washing machine as a shelf for various household items. This issue will not work with similar washing machines. At the top there is a hatch with a control panel, which means nothing can be placed on it. In Russian-made washing machines, the hatch often falls inward when the doors are open. As a result, you have to call a technician who will “wind up” the doors and turn the drum back.
Model overview
Now let's give an example of several models Bosch washing machines, which have vertical loading and are sold today in Russian stores. For our review, we specially selected the most popular models that users prefer most often.
Bosch WOT 26483. A very remarkable Bosch top-loading washing machine, which has a lot of positive reviews on the Internet. The drum of this Bosch can hold 6 kg of dry laundry. There is a very beautiful digital display on which information is displayed simply and clearly, and this in turn speaks of high-quality software. The spin speed is up to 1300 rpm, while the machine “stands rooted to the spot.” The model has many washing programs, a delay start timer, and in addition, this machine is low noise, and this is a huge plus.
Bosch WOR 20154. This machine has slightly more modest characteristics than the Bosch WOT 26483, but this fact does not detract from its advantages. The drum can wash up to 6 kg of dry laundry. Modern intelligent control. Spin at speeds up to 1000 rpm (for most things, this speed is enough for a high-quality spin). The model is well protected; complete leakage protection, imbalance control and foam control are integrated. The model is well assembled and low noise.
Bosch WOT 24455. A very advanced middle-class model assembled in Slovakia. It has a state-of-the-art display and integrated advanced electronic controls. The Bosch WOT 24455 cannot be called low-noise, but it has a load capacity of 6.5 kg and a very high-quality parking system that almost completely eliminates the drum slipping with the doors open. Spinning is possible at a speed of 1200 rpm. There is a mini program that can refresh your laundry in just 15 minutes.
So, the Bosch top-loading washing machine is worthy of attention. It may well be preferred, especially if the standard Bosch, front-loading, does not fit in a small bathroom.
