Which washing machine is better Bosch or Siemens
Buyers, asking the question: which Siemens or Bosch washing machines should be chosen, are driving themselves into a trap. The fact is that both of these brands belong to the same concern and these machines are very close in origin, but, nevertheless, not the same. These washing machines differ from each other both externally and internally, and I really want to evaluate their merits in order to be able to answer this most difficult question from buyers. Well, or at least try to answer it.
Not the brand, but the assembly
Modern manufacturers of washing machines very often unite into concerns, holdings, and consortiums. Sometimes this is done deliberately, in order to make it “easier to survive” in the highly competitive market for household appliances, and sometimes larger companies absorb smaller ones, thus increasing their influence. For us consumers, these corporate issues are not so important, but we care about who and how produces the goods that we purchase.
The Bosch and Siemens brands have long belonged to the same concern. He also controls the production of products all over the world, so if we talk about the quality of Bosch and Siemens machines in general, then it is approximately the same. But if we start going into detail, we can identify an interesting fact. Bosch and Siemens washing machines are assembled in different countries:
- in Germany;
- in Poland;
- in Russia;
- in China;
- in Slovenia, etc.
Assembly is carried out using the same technology from the same spare parts. But here’s the funny thing: models assembled in Germany break down much less often and last much longer. This also applies to Bosch washing machines and Siemens machines.In second place is equipment from China (formerly Poland), it is also very well assembled.
Chinese technology has had a bad reputation for a long time, but now the situation is changing for the better. At Chinese enterprises, Bosch and Siemens equipment is assembled very carefully, and its quality is very strictly controlled.
In third place is equipment from Poland and Slovenia; of course, it often breaks down, but in general, everything is within normal limits. And finally, the quality of the Russian assembly was recognized as the worst. Buyers intuitively avoid Bosch and Siemens washing machines assembled in Russia. Very often, washing machines are supplied to stores from Bosch and Siemens factories in Russia:
- with torn hatch cuffs;
- without clamps that should hold the hatch cuff;
- without transport bolts;
- with damaged Aquastop hoses, etc.
Of course, stores will not engage in anti-advertising. They simply send the defective equipment back to the factory. It is profitable for them to sell cheap Russian washing machines that are produced under German brands, so we once again draw the attention of buyers: buy German washing machines, or at least Chinese ones. You should not trust machines made at Russian factories of Bosch and Siemens, at least until they improve the build quality of their products.
Advantages of German washing machines
Masters unanimously claim that Siemens and Bosch equipment is no longer what it used to be, they say, before, any machine of one of the two brands worked for 15-20 years, but now it’s only 5-7 years. We would not indiscriminately compare equipment that was assembled 20 years ago with modern technology. Firstly, modern washing machines are electronically controlled, while the old ones were analog. Secondly, earlier the price of materials was lower, and the technologies were different.
In particular, the tanks were made not of plastic as now, but of stainless steel. And there are many such examples.
Reducing the overall operating life of equipment is a general trend that has affected both Bosch and Siemens machines. Well, we digress. Let's first talk about the advantages of Bosch washing machines.
- Bosch brand washing machines are perfectly protected from troubles in the form of: leaks, foaming, imbalance, voltage surges and other things. Moreover, almost all models have full protection.
- Without exception, all Bosch machines are equipped with a convenient program switch knob. The handle is quite sensitive and reliable.
- The inner surface of the Bosch washing machine drum provides excellent washing without damaging delicate fabrics.
- The Bosch brand produces a huge number of budget models of washing machines that are accessible to almost everyone.
- In line Bosch washing machines There is non-standard equipment that can be installed in small spaces.
Now let's list the advantages of Siemens washing machines. We will highlight only those advantages that are not characteristic or characteristic to a lesser extent for Bosch washing machines.
- Many machines have an automatic dosing system for detergent and conditioner. It saves up to 25% on laundry detergents.
- Most modern models have a special system that allows you to add laundry during washing. Very convenient if you need to throw a forgotten shirt or socks into the machine.
- 80% of Siemens washing machine models are equipped with an automatic laundry weighing system.If you accidentally overload the washing machine drum, the system will notify you.
Well, we have looked at the advantages of washing machines of two brands, but it is still not clear which washing machine to choose from Bosch or Siemens. It seems to us that you need to choose not by brand, but by model, of course, taking into account the country of assembly.

Siemens WM16W640OE. One of the best quality German washing machines, at least among those that can be bought in Russian stores. The assembly is simply perfect, and there’s nothing to say about the quality of spare parts. You can load up to 9 kg of laundry into the machine at a time. As you may have noticed, our review included only premium washing machine models. Middle class washing machines and budget options are simply not produced in Germany, only for the domestic market.It is almost impossible to determine which is better Bosch or Siemens. Whether or not to buy such expensive equipment is up to you. From our point of view, it is better to buy three washing machines cheaper over 20 years, about 400 dollars, than to pay $1,500 at a time. Of course, you may have a different opinion. Good luck!
