How to change shock absorbers on a Bosch washing machine

Replacing shock absorbers for a Bosch washing machineA terrible knock, clanging and rumble during the spin cycle indicate to the user that it is time to replace the shock absorbers in the Bosch washing machine. If you have the money, it is better to invite a qualified craftsman, he will do the job quickly and efficiently. If you want to save a little money, you should first study our instructions and only then begin the repair, in order to avoid problems that may arise during the process. So, let's start preparing for the repair.

We prepare everything you need

Handicraft repair of a Bosch washing machine cannot be rushed, and considering that replacing shock absorbers is a rather complex repair, you need to prepare very carefully, which is what we will do now. We start preparing with the selection of tools, let's take:

  • screwdriver;
  • 13 mm drill;

The drill is needed to drill out the factory fasteners and remove the old shock absorbers.

  • set of heads;
  • Screwdriver Set;
  • awl;
  • pliers.

In addition to a simple set of tools, we will need some components. Firstly, new shock absorbers. There is no need to buy cheap Chinese analogues; it is better to buy branded shock absorbers from Bosch. By the way, you can now order them online at the Bosch company store. Secondly, you will need 13 mm bolts, nuts and washers (2 pieces in total). In general, this is the entire repair kit.

How to get to the details?

Now we prepare the washing machine itself for repair. We disconnect the machine from the network, disconnect the inlet hose from the water supply, having first turned off the water, and disconnect the drain hose from the siphon. We twist the hoses and secure them to the back wall of the washer body so that they do not interfere.All that remains is to pull the washing machine out to a place where it will be convenient to work with it and you can begin disassembling it yourself.

  1. First you need remove the top cover of the washing machine Bosch.
  2. We take out the powder receptacle from the niche.
  3. There is a screw on the side of the control panel, unscrew it. We also unscrew the screws that are hidden behind the powder receptacle.
  4. Carefully remove the panel to the side, trying not to tear off the wiring.
  5. We place the washing machine on the back wall and unscrew the screws located on the bottom, near the front legs.
  6. Open the hatch door, use a screwdriver to pry up the clamp that holds the cuff, loosen it and remove it. We tuck the hatch cuff inside the drum so that it does not interfere.
  7. We pull off the front wall of the machine, but be careful, the wires from the UBL will be pulled behind it, they need to be carefully removed.

Well, having removed the front wall of the washing machine, we finally got to the shock absorbers. Pedantic German craftsmen claim that in order to remove the shock absorbers, you need to completely disassemble the Bosch washing machine, including removing the tank. In this case, changing shock absorbers will be a little easier, but you will also add twice as much work. We will try to do without further disassembly of the washing machine.

We make a replacement

First you need to pump each of the shock absorbers and make sure that at least one of them is faulty. We unscrew the lower screws that connect the shock absorbers to the washer body. At this stage everything is simple. WITHAt the top, the shock absorbers are attached directly to the tank using special plastic fasteners. You can’t just disconnect them, so we’ll use a 13 mm drill. We insert the drill into the screwdriver and drill out the fasteners. We disconnect the old shock absorbers and throw them away.

attaching the shock absorber to the body

We install new shock absorbers and bolt them to the body. On the other hand, you need to screw them to the tank. Let's pump the tank and check how the new shock absorbers work. We assemble the Bosch washing machine in reverse order and install it in place. Self-repair can be considered successfully completed. If you still have questions, you can watch the training video, good luck!
